Beautiful portrait, perfect work. According to the inscription on the frame, it shows the Russian diplomat Charles Robert de Nesselrode. Working for the Embassy in Paris during the years 1808-1811, Nesselrode supplies important information to the tsar Alexander I, which allowed him in 1816 to become minister of the foreign affairs, a post that he will keep during the reign of Nicholas I.
